GOLD DRUZY ~ #31 PAINTING A DAY Copyright 2013 * SOLD *
GOLD DRUZY is a continuation of my druzy series... This painting
reminds me of the moon craters yet it is rich with gold contrasted
against the black. The druzy is magnificent with the crystal-like
crater reflections filled with jewel tones of gold, purple, green, blue
and many other colors. Gold Druzy is painted with mixed media paints

RED DRUZY is part of a new series depicting the crater formations
in the druzy jewel in an abstract format. This painting reminds me of a
volcanic crater with the lava flow of deep red against the gold. It is

The red poppy flower speaks with the vibrancy of it's brilliant

AQUA WATER ~ #28 PAINTING A DAY Copyright 2013
The AQUA WATER of Miami... Florida with it's oceans, bay and lakes
is what has kept me painting for the last 20+ years. The sun shining
on the ocean as it reflects the colors of turquoise, aqua, greens and
deep blues. This has been one of the main inspirations for all my
sculpted large paintings and now my 6"x6" PAINTING A DAY mixed media
art.

The colors of a peacock feather are an inspiration for my
paintings. They remind me of the ocean colors with turquoise, deep blue
mixed with green in varied patterns. I grew up with two peacocks at
home which furthered my interest in painting theses beautiful patterned

This is my first painting in a smaller format with various mixed media paints and gold pigments. Each painting has a life of its own dictating the flow of the paint in combination with the design and color nuances. I like experimenting with the enameling and mosaic effects of the paints.

JULIA'S ART PATH PAINTING A DAY CONTINUES...
This journey of Painting A Day continues with 19 mixed media paintings thus far. It is now the 17th of August 2013 and this PAINTING A DAY has taken wings... Each painting has a life of it's own which is magical and mystical. The paintings reflect their own character as I watch in amazement. They are all abstract with many layers of color and design. Some of the paintings are filled with texture from the combination of mixed media paints. Painting a day has been fun and challenging all at the same time. This journey continues...
